Nadia's Encounter With A Yeti

Nadia - a 16 year old, mirthful girl

who loved to play pranks on

everybody lived in the chilly, high

Himalayas. Once an incident took

place in her life which turned out to

be unforgettable for her.

It was a frosty morning. Nadia

gulped down her warm coffee, sip by

sip, as she sat down to watch today’s

news. She was amused to know that

an unusual, big footprint probably of

a Yeti was found in the Himalayas.

The exact location was quite far from

Nadia’s house but she was familiar with

that place. She was also sure that a

huge crowd must be waiting there for the

yeti to emerge or maybe just observing

the footprint to study about it. Well she

was absolutely right. Nadia then planned

to visit the place and scare away everyone

gathered there with her Yeti costume which

she had bought for a fancy dress competition

held at her school recently.(She was

one of those people who didn’t believe in

Yetis and all.) She reached the spot, fully

prepared, hidden behind a tall pine tree, but the

throng had already started to run and yell loudly

before Nadia had popped out in front of them. In

a few minutes all of them vanished. Nadia was

completely puzzled and confused. She didn’t realise

that an avalanche was rapidly coming down her way

and the public hastened fearing for their lives. When

Nadia noticed the avalanche, it was too late. She fainted

and was about to fall when just on time someone came

to the rescue and saved Nadia’s life. Here the question

arises: who was it? When Nadia opened her eyes she found

herself in the arms of a gigantic, white, hairy, ape like creature.

OMG! Yes you are right, it was a yeti. It first smiled looking at

Nadia and then suddenly dropped her and rushed to its hiding

spot. Nadia was totally shocked, speechless and frozen. She

pinched herself to check whether she was dreaming but no it just

hurted her because whatever happened was in reality. After all she

just wished if she could have got a chance to thank the yeti. She

then ran towards her home and when reached, she told the entire

story to her family members who first pretended to be astonished

and then laughed heartily. Poor Nadia there was no one who trusted

her. Even though now it's been years to the Yeti incident, and newer

sensations have taken its place, Nadia feels proud to remember what

a real Yeti looks like!

Nightmare

That night the sound of thunder was deafening And at the door, there was someone knocking. I went up to the door to open it, but found nothing except a letter there. I kept on wondering how that letter was so dry and fair. I picked it with my shivering hand  But it was slipping just like sand. I tried to read it, but it was blank. My brain stopped working like an empty tank. Suddenly, someone touched me, and I started screaming But when I opened my eyes, I realized that I was in my cozy room deeply dreaming! - Jeevika Umesh
